Little shop of sketches

Here is sketch 19!!

and heres my layout

Whoo hoot Wednesday and lots more.....

A few whoo hoots (scrapping only)

I had a wonderful day on Saturday at NZ Scrapbook with some ladies from Sketchbook- it was great to meet the awesomely talented ladies I hadn't met before and to see others I have met. I took along page kits again so managed to get almost seven layouts done. There were some beautiful layouts done, chatting and SHOPPING.

Having my finger knife replaced easily as the blade kept on falling out - I lost my docket but NZ Scrapbook said they would send it back to Fiskars and they gave me a new one even though I had been to impatient to buy one from them .

Finding out my first layout I submitted to Up2Scrap has been shortlisted for publication in next issue - so have to wait and see.

Getting some lovely cheap scrapping purchases from trade me mainly from Scrapbook art who has a promotion on Thickers ie buy two get one free. I only paid $18.40 for three sets inc. postage.

Looking forward to some more scrapping happy mail as I won two challenges this week.

Getting a silver medal in the Olympics for my week four Ship Ahoy layout - so in the top four Olympians

Now on to some layouts(with no ingredients as too many):

Sketchbook Olympics week five - the monkeys slide up and down on the wire! - I don't know about this one....

Scrapbox NZ Colour challenge - new weekly challenge - I was the only one who did a layout so by default won it.

Sketchbook Fortnightly Sketch - a great sketch set by Hannah

Scrapbook Dreams weekly sketches - this weeks and last weeks

123 Challenge - challenge was to have teal, dots and scallops

Scrappin Patch Sketch - a double layout I haven't done one in a while

Whoo Hoot Wednesday

I haven't whoo hooted for a while but have a few things to whoo hoot about (relating to scrapping mainly)

-going into Spotlight on Saterday and finding a threading water fiskars punch - it was hidden behind a lot of other punches and it was only $24.95 ( I saw one in a scrapbook shop today for $39.95 - lucky me).

- We had a big leak with the tap in the upstairs toilet early Monday morning - nothing to whoo hoot about there but Brendan had the presence of mind to turn the tap off and come and tell us what had happened. In fact he had saved my scrapping supplies as the garage and my desk are under the bathroom and the water came right through and onto my paper drawers but luckily only a puddle on top of both sets of draws. The only thing that did get wet were some of my blue flowers as one was sticking out of the container and drew some water into it. Well Brendan got a lego bionacle for saving the carpet and of course the scrapping stuff -some of which cannot be replaced.

- I had a great break two weeks ago to do some scrapping with a couple of the ladies from Scrapbook dreams (Hi Kirsten and Tracy) and I am really looking forward to the Auckland crop for The Sketchbook on Saturday - 11 hours of scrapping and meeting some talented scrappers there.

- I will also Whoo hoot albiet a bit late about getting a bronze medal in the first week of the Sketchbook Olympics - haven't got anything since but Im enjoying doing the layouts and I think I might experiment a little for the next round and see what happens :)

Thats my whoo hoots for now
Have a great week
I will put another post up later about the Sketch at little Shop of sketches this week

Sketchbook Olympics - week 4 - Swimming

This week we had to do a water or nautical theme and use at least one transparent element on the layout. Well I had already done a beach one so thought I would go nautical as I love the stamps I used on the layout and haven't scrapped about the Queen Mary yet - though I have scrapped this photo of Brendan before. The ships log has the journalling inside. My transparent elements are the stamped transparencies around the large photo and above the ships log.

The wonderfully talented Niella and her sister Bee have come up with a little shoppe of "paper goodness " as Neilla would say. They make up these very cute and funky little limited edition kits and very good prices
and it saves you having to buy a big packets of goodies for one layout say. You can find them here Random kits and pieces
Here is an example and what is coming my way soon :)

Great kits Neilla and Bee can't wait to see more.

My weekend getaway

Well a 26 hour getaway... Tracey from Scrapbook Dreams forum came up with an idea to have a real life get together last weekend at a beach house (a rather large beach house). Due to other members commitments there were just three of us there - Tracey, Kirsten and myself (and their families). I had a great time and it was great to have a break from everyday life. It was great to meet Tracey and Kirsten - I was a bit nervous as I'm quite reserved but with the wonderful company and common interest it was nothing to be worried about - Thanks Ladies. Well I packed 10 page kits up to do various challenges and managed to complete 9,and almost complete one. I finished the 10th one today but won't be able to share just yet. The Scrapjacked layout from the previous post was one of them. One other I can't share just yet as have to ask someones permission to put on my blog as they are in the photos. ( I thought I had done 11 but miscounted)

Here are the others (as this is a long post I won't be putting my ingredients down -if you have any queries just ask in a comment and I will get back to you):

Bossy Scrapper no 9

I decided to have another go at bossy scrapper at SBBD. It involves going into their chat room and talking to people there and the boss gives us instructions for a layout we can do then and there or later on.
The boss was Kelly and there were real high jinks about cutting doodles, swear words, distressing and bonjela gel - great fun. I did some of my layout while talking but most of it later - didn't want to miss out on the fun. heres my layout - don't have a list of products this time sorry!
